Plant Description: This is a prolific flowering Callistemon that, unlike other mass flowering Callistemons, is relatively self-cleaning. Its masses of red bottle brush flowers are a real feature in any garden
Uses: Flowering medium hedge (also mass planted or as a specimen shrub)
Position & Tolerances: Full sun to light shade
Height & Width: 2m high x 1.5m wide (can be kept shorter with pruning)
Flowers: Masses of red bottle brush flowers from September to November, flowers will often appear in autumn, as it repeat flowers in certain regions of Australia
Foliage: Beautiful rustic red new growth in spring and autumn
Soil Type: Most soil types
Best Planting Time: April to October
Planting Density: 1-2 plants per linear metre (1-2 plants per m²)
Where it thrives: QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC, TAS, SA, WA and NT
Pruning: Responds very well to pruning at different times of the year. Regular pruning will be beneficial as it will encourage dense, bushy growth
Establishment & Extra Care:
Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established.
Plant in a well mulched garden, a chunky mulch is recommended.
Use slow release fertiliser in spring, if required.
