Plant Description: This is a very narrow growing native tree for tight planting areas. It retains a compact upright form making it excellent for hedging and screening in compact planting zones such as town houses
Uses: Tall hedge or screen, ideal for tight planting zones (also as a feature or topiary)
Position & Tolerances: Full sun to part shade. Drought and cold tolerant
Height & Width: 6-10m high x 1-1.5m wide
Flowers: White duster flowers from November to December, followed by large, fleshy, red/pink edible berries
Foliage: Rounded, bright, glossy green leaves with contrasting reddish brown new growth
Soil Type: Moist, well drained soils
Best Planting Time: March to November
Planting Density: 1-1.5 plants per linear metre (1 plant per 1-2m²)
Where it thrives: QLD, NSW, VIC, SA & WA
Pruning: Yearly pruning is recommended for a tidy hedge, or prune every 2-3 years as a screening plant

Establishment & Extra Care:

Be aware of Psyllids - it is recommended to use Yates Confidor Tablets when planting and yearly to prevent psyllids. This plant can develop more resistance to psyllids over time.
Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established.
Plant in a well mulched garden, a chunky mulch is recommended.
Use slow release fertiliser in spring, if required.
