Plant Description: It has amazing inky blue stems and beautiful blue velvet foliage. Its compact form and dense growth habit makes it an excellent choice for hedging
Uses: Great as a hedge or small screen, or as a specimen plant
Position & Tolerances: Full sun to part shade. Drought and salt tolerant
Height & Width: 2-4m high x 1-3m wide (in cooler climates can be smaller)
Foliage: Blue velvet foliage
Soil Type: Tolerates most soil types, avoid wet feet
Best Planting Time: Sept - Nov (Spring)
Planting Density: 1 plant per 0.5 - 2 linear metres (1 plant per 1-5 m²)
Where it thrives: Sth QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, WA. Protect from frosts in cooler climates
Pruning: Can be left unpruned for a natural hedge, or prune once per year for a tidier hedge
Establishment & Extra Care:
Water as required for 8-13 weeks until established.
Fertilise yearly with slow release fertiliser.
Plant in a well mulched garden, a chunky mulch is recommended.
For more vibrant blue, give good care.
